On May 24, 2024, the Technical University of Košice hosted the first regional workshop focused on establishing stakeholders’ engagement in the creation of a regional Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE). This event brought together project partners and associated partners to discuss the future direction and focus areas for the CoVE in Eastern Slovakia’s Košice region, specifically in the ICT sector. The workshop aimed to identify and engage with relevant stakeholders from the Quintuple Helix model to create synergies and build partnerships that support the development of CoVEs. These efforts are expected to bolster local innovation, regional development, and social inclusion through a robust skills ecosystem. The event saw the participation of 20 representatives from various organizations, including: Project Partners: Technical University of Košice ASTRA - Association for Innovation and Development Secondary Vocational Technical School in Michalovce Kosice IT Valley z.p.o. Associated Partners: Agency for Regional Development Support Košice, n.o. Telegrafia a.s. Promiseo s.r.o. Slovak Union for Quality, Innovation and Design Siemens Healthineers This workshop marked a significant step toward fostering strong cooperation between educational institutions and the business sector within the Košice region, laying the groundwork for the successful development of the regional CoVE.
