On November 20th, 2024, the Klaipeda Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts held a focus group event aimed at identifying skill gaps in advanced technologies within the industry and gathering insights from sector professionals. The discussion covered seven key Advanced Technologies (ATIs): Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Blockchain, Internet of Things, ICT for Sustainability, Industry 5.0, and Quantum Computing. Participants discussed existing and future skill requirements, emphasizing the gap between current and needed expertise. The event brought together 11 participants, representing both the business sector and educational institutions, who shared their experiences and perspectives. While technical skills were a major focus, the importance on soft skills among professionals was strongly highlighted. Participants expressed the need for continuous collaboration between higher education institutions and businesses, highlighting that collaboration and ongoing discussions are key to helping companies and specialists successfully adapt to advanced technologies.
