The Foundation is deeply rooted in Eastern Slovakia, dedicated to caring for its people and preserving its natural, cultural, and historical heritage. Its mission is to inspire individuals and organizations to take responsibility for themselves, their communities, their region, and their future. Since its founding in 1994, the Foundation has provided financial support, education, and advisory services to individuals and non-profits striving to improve life in Eastern Slovakia, supporting over a thousand projects with more than €3 million in funding. It introduces innovative solutions tailored to local needs, helping people lead fulfilling lives, while also building networks and strengthening the capacities of third-sector organizations in Slovakia and abroad, particularly in Ukraine. The Foundation actively involves individuals and companies in regional development and seeks to maximize financial support for local initiatives. It is a member of the International Carpathian Foundation Network and Transnational Giving Europe, enabling cross-border donations with tax benefits. Since 2016, it has held observer status in the Slovak Platform for Development Organisations – Ambrela, joined the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum in 2017 with representation in its Steering Committee, and became a member of the Carpathian Civil Society Platform and Hub in 2019.
