The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) is a professional, scientific, and independent non-profit organization, established in 1984 with the aim of developing, upgrading, and promoting the field of Information Technology in Cyprus. CCS seeks to cultivate high standards among professionals in the field, recognizing the impact that Information Technology has on employment, business, society, and the quality of life of citizens. Playing a key role in bridging the gap between academia and the professional sector, the Society promotes critical issues in the field, particularly in areas such as digital literacy, professional skills, professionalism, education, training, and research. As the leading body for the promotion of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector, CCS expresses the views of its members to national authorities on strategic ICT issues and participates in European and other projects, developing multilateral collaborations with the academic community, government, public, private, and non-governmental organizations. In cooperation with relevant stakeholders and with the valuable contribution of volunteers, it undertakes activities, events, and competitions that benefit professionals, educators, students, pupils, and ICT enthusiasts in Cyprus. The Society currently represents more than 1,000 ICT professionals and student members, while thousands of individuals – children, youth, parents, unemployed individuals, employers, and employees – have benefited from initiatives it undertakes in support of digital development.
