On October 31, 2024, an impactful workshop was held at SAEK Glyfada, jointly organized by SAEK and IDEC S.A. under the framework of the INVESTech project. Workshop Program Highlights Participants of the workshop engaged in a variety of presentations, discussions, and hands-on activities designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the project’s objectives, while fostering dialogue on the needs, challenges, and opportunities of VET excellence in Greece. The event kicked with an introduction by Victoria Apostolou from SAEK Glyfada, who also facilitated participant introductions. Nefeli Dimopoulou of IDEC S.A. provided a concise overview of INVESTech and the mission of CoVEs in Greece, with a focus on the European excellence framework and the maturity model underpinning the CoVE initiative. Following this, Victoria Apostolou led an interactive workshop on skill needs and alignment with labor market demands, which encouraged participants to consider how VET can bridge existing skill gaps in the ICT sector. After a brief intermission, Katerina Tzortzatou from NCSR Demokritos explored emerging trends and business world challenges, highlighting how innovation in VET can contribute to a more adaptable and resilient workforce. George Velegkrakis of CommonSpace then guided participants through a session on fostering green transition in VET, emphasizing sustainability as a core component of modern vocational education. The workshop concluded with Natassa Kazantzidou from IDEC S.A., who discussed the operational framework of CoVEs in Greece and outlined the next steps for the project. Outcomes and Future Steps The workshop succeeded in promoting the INVESTech project’s vision, sparking insightful conversations among participants about the future of VET in Greece. By addressing the evolving needs of the ICT sector, supporting sustainable practices, and encouraging cross-border collaboration, the project aims to elevate the quality and relevance of vocational education across Europe. Participants left with a deeper understanding of the value CoVEs bring to regional growth, green transition, and innovative vocational pathways, all of which are aligned with Europe’s commitment to social inclusion and sustainable development. This event marked a promising step toward empowering VET in Greece and beyond, with ongoing workshops and activities planned to further strengthen this collaborative European initiative.
